'Team Member' only may comment?!

Overnight, it seems, blogger has instituted a new change. Now, a handful of the blogs I follow only allow 'team members' to comment! Nice...I commented on the last posts of these blogs, now I'm not good enough?!  I have yet to see where one applies to become a 'team member' either.  Any one else know what this change is?

  1. I've just looked it up on my account, obviously it is a new setting. But boy, do I hate that. Same with people who start a blog and suddenly decide only invited members may continue reading. Why start a blog, in the first place?

  2. (I believe you become a member when signing up to follow the blog with blogger or such. Still... who cares?)

  3. The irritating part is that last week I could comment, but this week I can't. Is blogger trying to emulate Facebook by making change a trial?

  4. I hate when Blogger messes with the settings! I'm going to have to check mine... I don't restrict anyone commenting, but have to preview the comments first since being spammed terribly this year. And I had even had the word verification on too. It's sad that some people ruin it for everyone.

  5. @Rue: I don't use word verification at all - first, I hate it (and sometimes do not comment because I know the other blogger uses WV), and second becasue I have heard that many people with impaired vision cannot work around it. But then, my blogs are not that frequented, hence hardly any need to look out for spammers.

  6. Hi via Earthenwitch. I've just had to re-add her blog to my following list...what is Blogger up to?

  7. Hi, gz! It's beginning to look like Blogger is trying to treat 'change' the same way FB does...as a disaster!
